Outdoor advertising and street campaigns in Birmingham

The Bike Ads can arrange Birmingham campaigns using ad bikes, human billboards, promotional staff, digital ad vans and wider outdoor media. Start with the part of the city you need to reach and the action you want people to take; the format and schedule should follow that brief.

Our Birmingham experience includes a combined ad bike and promotional-staff campaign for JustPark. The archive also contains a MoneyGram Human Billboard booking covering Birmingham and Coventry, illustrating a different kind of multi-location brief.

An ad bike and a street team working to one plan

JustPark’s Birmingham campaign ran from 25 to 28 April 2018 with one ad bike and one member of promotional staff. The report identifies Priory Queensway as a focus location and includes leaflet-distribution activity.

The two roles are useful to distinguish in a new brief. A display carries the message, while a distribution task requires materials, a handover plan and instructions for the person delivering it. If both are needed, specify them separately so the quote and reporting reflect the actual work.

A city brief or a two-city schedule?

A MoneyGram booking in our 2017 records planned eight AdWalkers across Birmingham and Coventry. The brief covered the two cities together; it was not eight units in each city.

For a new multi-city campaign, identify whether activity must happen simultaneously or in sequence. Give each city its own hours, locations and artwork requirements, and account for travel and material handovers. A second city is more than an extra name on the same route.

Choosing the format

If the task centres on selected street-level locations, consider ad bikes or human billboards. Add promotional staff where a specific interaction or distribution task is needed.

For screen-based road activity, a digital ad van can be considered against the route and stopping requirements. Fixed billboards, digital screens or bus media involve their own inventory, dates and production arrangements.

What to include in your Birmingham enquiry

Send the postcodes or named locations, dates, preferred hours and objective. If an event or store is involved, include the address and the important arrival or opening times. Mark which positions are essential and which can be substituted.

Explain what people should do after seeing the message, and provide the approved offer or information page. If staff will distribute material, state what it is, who supplies it and whether you need counts or observations recorded.

The written proposal should identify campaign activity and transport separately, with the people, equipment, creative and reporting included. Photographs show aspects of delivery; enquiries and bookings need their own measurement route.
