PureGymad bikes for local gym promotion

The Bike Ads’ PureGym work includes operated UK ad bike activity and local opening creative. A Colindale example from June 2017 shows how a gym campaign can connect a visible street message with a specific club and opening date.

The Colindale artwork announced an opening on 8 June. A photograph dated 1 June shows the ad bike carrying that message ahead of the advertised opening. The job was scheduled from 1 to 14 June, spanning the run-up and the period after that date.

A message tied to a real opening

The creative had a specific local job: tell people about the Colindale club and the advertised opening date. For a gym launch, that gives the display a clear focus. The area, club identity and next step should work together so that someone seeing the message knows which location it concerns.

An opening campaign also has a natural changeover point. The message needed before opening may be different from the one needed afterwards. For a new brief, agree the versions of the artwork, their approval dates and any planned replacement before booking production.

Part of wider UK gym activity

Other historical PureGym examples include Greenwich and Northolt, while the gallery also shows a PureGym-branded ad bike at the Bullring in Birmingham. Each example centres on a local club message, giving a wider view of how the format has been used for gym promotion.

The work included operated advertising, rather than equipment supply alone. For a marketing team choosing between an operated campaign and using its own staff, that distinction changes the brief, the responsibilities and the cost comparison.

What to take into your own gym brief

Start with the club location, opening date or offer period. Identify the nearby places where the message will be relevant, and give people a clear destination for current membership information. Confirm who can approve changes if the opening schedule or offer changes.

Agree delivery reporting alongside your campaign plan. If membership enquiries or sign-ups are part of the evaluation, decide how the club will record them and keep that response data separate from photographs of the advertising activity.

You can compare managed campaigns, DIY hire and equipment purchase, explore gym and fitness campaigns or send your club’s brief.

Another brief. Another approach.
