Bus advertising for local and regional campaigns

The Bike Ads can arrange bus advertising through the relevant media owners and specialist partners. Tell us the area, audience, dates and objective, and we can discuss the available fleet, formats and booking periods.

Configuration, inventory and availability are confirmed for your brief.

Bus advertising puts your message on vehicles operating within a transport network. Depending on the available inventory, options can include exterior panels, rears, larger side formats, wraps and interior placements. Each has different production requirements and viewing conditions.

Match the placement to the message

An exterior panel needs a clear message that can be recognised quickly. A rear placement is viewed differently from a side panel. Interior advertising may allow a passenger more time with the message, but its dimensions and setting still need to guide the design.

A larger wrap can create a distinctive vehicle treatment, with more involved artwork, production and fitting. It should be planned as a specific production project rather than priced as an enlarged small panel.

On a small screen, scroll the table sideways to compare every column.

Understand the operating area

A scheduled bus follows the transport operator’s service, rather than a route created solely for your advert. Ask which fleet or operating area is included, what can be said about routes and how vehicle substitutions are handled.

If you need a vehicle at a specific location for a specific launch time, a digital ad van or a planned ad bike campaign may be a closer match. Those options still require a feasible route and access arrangements.

What the quote should contain

Confirm the number of vehicles or panels, the format, operating area, display dates and booking period. The proposal should separate media space from design, production, fitting and removal, and make VAT clear.

For a wrap, ask for the vehicle template and production schedule before committing to the final design. For several local areas, identify whether the same creative works everywhere or whether each area needs its own version. A panel price should not be read as the cost of a whole vehicle or campaign.

Build the timetable around production

Allow time for artwork, media-owner checks, printing and installation. Confirm the approved dates for fitting and display, along with the procedure for missed deadlines or required corrections.

Campaign dates and event dates are not interchangeable. If the advert promotes an event, plan sufficient time for the message to be useful before the event and make the handling of expired creative part of the booking.

Common questions

Can we choose an exact bus route?

Explain the route or area you want to reach. What can be guaranteed depends on the operator and package. The proposal should distinguish a confirmed route commitment from a wider fleet or depot-area booking.

Can we book one bus?

Quantity and minimum period depend on the format and available package. Send the intended area and dates so the options can be assessed without assuming a fleet-wide minimum or a one-vehicle offer.

Will the bus stop outside our business?

Advertising on a service bus does not give you control of its stops or timetable. If that location is essential to an activation, include it in a separate mobile-campaign brief.

What reporting is available?

Agree placement or fleet confirmation and photography with the booking. Audience estimates describe a planning methodology; they are not records of every person who noticed the advert. Your own enquiry or sales data should be evaluated separately.
